"The proximity to people must be the focus!"

Name: Johanna Mühlbauer

Age: 32

Profession: Nursing specialist in the Schreinermühle (Kollnburg)

At the BFS Bad Kötzting: 2006 to 2008

How was your time at the BFS in Bad Kötzting?
"They were nice years. You learn a lot and are well prepared for your future professional life. The teachers are technically competent. You are perceived and valued as a person - I don't think that's a given everywhere."

What are the most beautiful aspects of the job for you?
"Working with people. In the Schreinermühle we are the family of the residents. For example, I'm not afraid of the residents hugging - that's part of the job there. You develop a different relationship with them - but you learn that over the years ."

What advice do you have for prospective caregivers?
"Always put your heart and soul into what you are doing! Always be aware that you are working with people. You must never run the risk of just stubbornly doing the job and processing people. A good team that gives support is a strong advantage!"
